How to Generate JSON-LD Schema for AEO & GEO
To rank in AI-driven search engines (like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews), you need to feed them structured Entity-Based JSON-LD Schema. ContentOps allows you to generate both Global (domain-wide) and Individual (post-level) schema with a single click based on your Topical Map.Here is the exact workflow for generating your schema and injecting it into WordPress.
Phase 1: Injecting Global Schema (Domain-Wide)
Your Global Schema tells LLMs exactly what your entire site is about. We recommend regenerating and updating this at the beginning of every month or after publishing a batch of new content.
Step 1: Generate in ContentOps
- Open your main ContentOps dashboard.
- Click the Generate Global Schema button.
- Wait for the AI to convert your map into JSON-LD, then click Copy to Clipboard.
Step 2: Inject into WordPress
- In your WordPress dashboard, ensure you have a header injection plugin installed (We recommend the free WP Code Lite plugin).
- Navigate to Code Snippets > Header & Footer.
- Paste your ContentOps schema directly into the Header box (replacing any old schema you previously pasted).
- Click Save Changes.
Phase 2: Injecting Individual Post Schema
Individual schema provides LLMs with strict structured data confirming exactly what a specific article is about.
Note: Popular SEO plugins like RankMath often lock custom schema injection behind a paid pro-wall. To do this for free, install the Schema and Structured Data for WP & AMP plugin.
Step 1: Generate in ContentOps
- Open the specific published post node inside your ContentOps Topical Map.
- Click the Generate AI Schema button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the node to find your newly generated schema code. Click Copy.
Step 2: Inject into WordPress
- Go to your WordPress dashboard and Edit the individual post.
- Scroll down below the text editor to find the Schema and Structured Data meta box.
- Select the Custom Schema tab.
- Paste your copied payload directly into the box.
- Click Update to save your post.
Bonus Workflow: Chatting with Individual Nodes
If you want to use an external AI (like Perplexity or ChatGPT) to strategize about a single blog post without giving it your entire database:
- Open the post node in ContentOps and click Copy Node JSON.
- Paste this single node into your AI chat.
- Best Practice: For the highest level of accuracy, drop your Full Topical Map into the chat first, and then drop the Individual Node JSON. This locks the AI onto your specific target post while ensuring it understands how that post fits into your overall domain strategy.
